Greetings ~

Like most businesses, newspapers have their fair share of problems. But getting the story correct is important and getting the headlines right is more important. A word left out, or spelled wrong or a phrase that has two meanings can be a real headache for any publisher. The typesetter you would think would catch the typos. And in some cases, it probably is the fault of the typesetter themselves.

I have noticed that mistakes happen much more today than in years past as the art of printing is now easier using computers. And the fact that not many check their spelling and simply allow the mistakes to get out is bad for business. But it happens from time to time.

This blog shows a lot of the headline mistakes from the past. Some are crude, some are silly and others are downright funny. I dedicate this blog to all the typesetters who stood there for a few minutes, scratching their heads...then set the type and printed it anyway.
